Seoul (Korea). Defending champion Chinese Taipei made a statement at the start of the second round, defeating Korea with 7-3 in ten innings at Jamsil Stadium on Wednesday evening. The host had just tied the game with two outs in the bottom of the ninth to force extra innings. But Chinese Taipei used three hits in the top of the tenth to plate four runs with the IBAF Extra Inning Rule in effect to win the game.

Seoul (Korea). Following a two-hour delay due to rain, Japan shut out the Czech Republic 7-0 on Tuesday morning, finishing first-round play with a 4-1 record. The game was called midway through the bottom of the fifth inning after another rain delay. Japan moves up to the second round, while the Czech team has to settle for a classification game.

Seoul (Korea). Not even 24 hours after coming back against Canada, Chinese Taipei celebrated another walk-off win at the XXV IBAF 18U Baseball World Championship. They beat Panama 4-3 on a sac fly by Tzu Wei Lin in the bottom of the ninth inning. The team from Central America had just tied the game in the top of the eighth. Chinese Taipei improved to 3-1, while Panama dropped to 2-2.

Chinese Taipei rallied from a 0-5 deficit to win 6-5 on a walk-off RBI single by Chih Chieh Su with two outs in the bottom of the ninth. They dismantled Panama 8-0 thanks to a strong offensive performance and another great gem by their pitching staff.
