Chinese Taipei went undefeated to clinch the first-ever Asian slow pitch title.

The World Nos. 2, 10, and 11 women's baseball international programmes will compete with world No. 1 Japan in the Women's Baseball Asia Cup Super Round. The tournament outcome will determine Asia 2 (Group B), 3 and 4 (Group A) in the World Cup's first stage. Japan will compete as Asia 1 in Group B.

The participants shared their women's baseball development status and discussed future projects with the WBSC Women's Baseball Commission.

In Group A of the second round, World No. 18 India will face No. 2 Chinese Taipei, No. 15 China, and No. 11 Hong Kong-China. In Group B, Indonesia will play No. 1 Japan, No. 10 Korea, No. 14 Philippines.

Six teams will compete for two spots in the championship round, a WBSC Women's Baseball World Cup Qualifier set to start on 26 May.

The initiative enjoyed success in baseball powers like Korea and Japan, in developing China and grew from 12 to 113 teams in India.

The staff includes pitching coach Kazuki Yoshimi and assistant coaches Shiro Nagatake and Tomoaki Koga.

The competition has been suspended after the 2019 edition amid the COVID-19 outbreak. A pitch limitation will apply to games with the goal to develop more pitchers.

The Baseball5 Asian Trophy is scheduled for 4 June in Nagoya, the host city of the 2026 Asian Games.
