Major League Baseball will open its season in Tokyo, Japan for the fourth time when the Oakland Athletics take on the Seattle Mariners in the Gloops Japan Opening Series 2012, a two-game series March 28 and 29.

Chinese Taipei played a huge role in the charity game in Tokyo
The game of baseball and its fans were the true and only winners, as NPB (the japanese Major Leagues) Samurai Japan played a CPBL (Chinese Taipei professional league) All Star team for the charity game at the Tokyo Dome this past weekend. CPBL players and officials said they were honored to participate, and thankful for the chance of showing solidarity to the japanese people for the continuing relief and recovery efforts.

Samurai Japan (an All Star team of the NPB, the Japanese Major Leagues) beat the All Stars of the CPBL (the professional League in Chinese Taipei) 9-2 in a charity game played Saturday 3/10 at the Tokyo Dome in front of a 35,505 fans in attendance. The game was meant as a fundraiser for the victims of the earthquake and tsunami of March 2011. A total of 12,000 tickets were give to residents from disaster struck areas.

24 Japanese Players identified for Women’s Baseball World Cup
